The Cliff Hall Hotel is located in the heart of Shanklin’s natural and historic beauty on an immediate walker’s paradise. From the garden of the hotel, you are on the beautiful cliff path joining the Isle of Wight Coastal Path. A brief walk along this pathway leads to the Shanklin Cliff Lift, the short scenic funicular journey returning one easily to the long sandy beach, and busy Esplanade with its amusement arcades and cafe culture.

A pleasant 10-15 minute stroll takes you from the hotel to the heart of the beautiful Shanklin Old Village. This delightful area is renowned for those pretty thatched cottages, which now host a variety of delightful tearooms, cozy pubs, and independent gift shops. Entrance to the famous Shanklin Chine, the deep, leafy gorge with waterfalls so super pretty along with acres of sub-tropical planting, is there too. A great place to visit at any time but particularly atmospheric by night.

Main Shanklin is on hand for 10 minutes on foot from the hotel for entertainment and basic amenities. Here is the main shopping street comprising different stores, supermarket, and Shanklin Theatre that organizes many shows and performances throughout the year. Shanklin railhead stands at the top of the town; it is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel; visitors can, therefore, go anywhere in the island quite comfortably. A train trip through Isle of Wight’s countryside is an attraction in itself.
